About Marita

Marita Glasgow received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's

University of Minnesota in 2017. Marita has over seven years of experience working with

adolescents and adults. She is also certified in psychological first aid and PREPARE/ENRICH.

Growing up in the Rondo community was no walk in the park. My family struggled with mental

health issues and substances abuse. My brother was murdered at the age of eighteen. My nuclear

family did not have the support to build resilience, so we did the best we could to bear the pain

of losing a loved one. At the time, I was 15 years old and did not understand that some of the

symptoms I began experiencing were because I unknowingly suffered from PTSD.

My "ah-ha" moment wasn't until My college undergrad psychology class that I realized I had

undiagnosed PTSD. From there, I went to see a therapist who assisted me in identifying my self-

defeating behaviors and providing a safe place for me to process my childhood traumas. Looking

back, I did not want another person struggling as I did, so I became a therapist!
